Here in Hawaii, the tradition of caring for and cherishing our kupuna is engrained in our culture; yet there’s no denying that the responsibility of taking care of an aging family member can be a challenge and often requires sacrifices, especially if you go at it alone. Many people are turning to a home care provider to help share this “burden” of care and ensure that their loved one continues to age happily and safely.
Home Care by ALTRES Medical was established with the goal of providing our community with a higher level of care and becoming a trusted aging-in-place resource for your family to rely on. And with over 18 years of experience in supplemental nurse staffing, we utilize our industry knowledge to ensure that we provide our clients and their families with the best care possible. Read below to learn more about what sets us apart from other home care services in Hawaii.
Customized Care Plans & Resources
When it comes to caring for a loved one, a one-size-fits-all approach just isn’t effective. That’s why we have a dedicated Care Manager who collaborates with you to develop a customized care plan that takes into account your loved one’s specific needs, preferences, interests, and scheduling. Even if home care isn’t something your family is ready for right now, we help get the conversation started and build good insight into what care options are available in the community. Our team has a wealth of resources and educational materials that we are happy to share to help you plan for the future.
Continuity of Care
We believe that matching our clients with the same Caregiver for every shift makes for a better all-around experience and is important in building a sense of safety and comfort in the care that your loved one receives. That’s why shifts are never scheduled through an open sign-up sheet, but rather personally handled by our Care Manager. If for some reason we need to schedule you with a new Caregiver, we let you know ahead of time to help minimize any surprises and allow time to communicate this change effectively with your loved one.
Continuing Education
Education and knowledge are key to providing high-quality care in Hawaii. We offer all of our Caregivers the opportunity to grow academically and professionally by holding classes here at our office, connecting them with schools and training programs, and directing them to resources. Additionally, our in-house home care team regularly attends conferences, fairs, and events so that we are always aware of what resources and information is available in order to better serve you and your family. By staying abreast of changes in the industry and ensuring that our Caregivers are highly skilled and knowledgeable, we give our clients peace of mind knowing that their family is receiving the best care possible.
